About Us
HeartLand Hands, Inc. is reaching out to the community by providing emergency food assistance to residents of DeSoto County who are having difficulty providing food for their family. Food Donated by You

HeartLand Hands, Inc. is one of the largest food pantries in DeSoto County. The pantry is stocked with canned goods, staple goods, wipes, cleaning supplies, hygiene items  and many other grocery items. These supplies are handed out by volunteers to those who are in need. All food distributed is free.

Heartland Hands, Inc. is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am –1pm.

**New applications and re-evaluations must be seen before 12:30pm.

Poverty Statistics
Mississippi ranks highest of all states with 22.6% of people below poverty level.
60.5% of grandparents in Mississippi are responsible for their grandchildren.
66% of the working poor have annual in-comes below the federal poverty line.

Our interview process not only determines whether clients are truly in need, but also allows us to refer them to job agencies and other organizations in an effort to “help them help themselves."

To qualify for assistance, one must provide the following:
1. Picture ID

2. Proof of ALL household income:
      (Last 2 check stubs)

3. Proof of residency:   
      (Current utility bill)

4. If Food Stamp recipient:
      (Snap Letter).

Service area:  North Mississippi residents, Southaven and Horn Lake, MS specifically.

Eligibility will be determined by the guidelines
 of the income scale.

Each qualifying client will be given food
 one (1) time per month.
